Confidentiality

I am committed to keeping your personal information safe by making sure I process and store securely your details when you contact me under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations (‘GDPR’) that permits me to do so.  Please have a read through my Data Protection Policy for more information.

Counselling appointments are confidential.  It is important to me that you can relax in knowing I offer a safe and private place to explore your experiences.  Confidentiality within Counselling with Em means that anything you tell me is kept entirely private, however there may be times when there is a perceived conflict and moral duty of confidentiality with the need to disclose information.  I will explore these ethical and legal expectations with you during the therapeutic agreement.  Confidentiality is upheld by me not discussing your personal details other than talking through the work that is being carried out in the counselling relationship with a professionally trained supervisor to ensure it is to the highest standard which I attend monthly.
