Appointments and Fees

Everyone’s journey in counselling is different and it will depend on what you are bringing to the sessions on how long you would like to continue.  We will have regular reviews to check in on the changes in your life and whether more sessions would be of value to you.  You will have full control on whether you would like to continue or not.

Introductory appointment

I recognise as a client it is very important you connect with your counsellor – I am able to offer a FREE 20-minute telephone call before booking any sessions with me.  This call will be an informal chat which will give you the opportunity to share what you want to gain from counselling, give you the space to ask any questions to see if you feel comfortable with me and allow me the chance to check that I am able to offer you the help that you need. An initial telephone appointment can be arranged through calling, emailing, texting or from the form on the contact page of my website.

If you decide my approach is right for you and we agree to continue, we will arrange a time and day to meet for your first session. There is no obligation to book further sessions and you will be free to go away and think things over before committing yourself to future work.

Booking a session

When you book your first session, I will send you a copy of my therapeutic agreement for you to look through before we meet. This will give you the time to look over the agreement, agree to the conditions and ask any questions.

Fees

I offer flexible face to face, online and telephone appointments to young people and adults 13 years upwards in the UK in the daytime, evening and weekends to meet client needs. Sessions for individuals are for 1 hour, this allows time for you to get settled, 50 minutes of therapy and time to check out. Sessions will be at the set date and time agreed by both of us.

Sessions are £40 payable by bank transfer 24 hours before the session to secure your appointment with me. I have a limited number of slots where I can offer a reduced rate of £35 for those who are unemployed, receiving benefits or are a student. If you feel you meet these criteria, please contact me for availability as spaces are limited.

When we have arranged our first session I will provide you with my bank details.  I recommend weekly appointments however if this is not practical we can discuss other options to suit your needs. Once confirmation of your payment has been made to secure your session I will provide you with the Zoom link for online counselling, arrange to contact you at the agreed time for telephone counselling or provide you with my address depending on the method of counselling you have chosen. I have a home-based counselling practice which is both quiet and private.  I do not publish my address on my website but, once we have agreed a first appointment and payment has been received to confirm the session I will give you all the information you need.

Informal chat – FREE (20 minutes on the phone)

Individual counselling sessions – £40 (1 hour in length) or £35 for individuals who are unemployed, receiving benefits or are a student

Young people sessions – £35 (1 hour in length)

Cancellations

I understand there will be times you cannot attend your appointment or an unexpected situation arises.  If this happens I ask for you to let me know within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment however if you do not cancel within the time frame you will be responsible for paying the full amount of the session.  I will also give 48hrs notice if I need to cancel.
